About Computer Virus Issues That May Cause Physical Memory Dumps
Believe it or not a computer virus may not be the culprit if you are experiencing physical memory dumps on your home PC. I know that this is the subject of this post but the keen eye will see this and want to know how about computer virus issues and how they may affect memory dumps. There are a lot of reasons why physical memory dumps happen but there are some common denominators here that you should be aware of when this happens to you.
When the message comes out on your screen that causes a screen memory dump it may be because of a missing dll file. This type of file is an information piece that’s contained in every program you download onto your computer. Sometimes the file is either corrupted or just doesn’t exist. In either case the computer does not get satisfied and lets you know right away by initiating a memory dump.
Another reason why you may be experiencing physical memory dumps is just that you don’t have enough memory in your system to support your applications. This is an easy fix by purchasing more memory. But there comes a point in time where you have to ask yourself whether to upgrade to a brand new computer to take advantage of the ROM and RAM memory for upgrades.
The memory board that’s contained with your PC may also be bad. Circuitry does go bad for any number of reasons and maybe access to certain portion of the memory in your board may be suspect as well.
Any one of these reasons may be the source of the problem in the physical memory dumps that you may be getting from time to time and if push comes to shove you’ll have to take it to a technician to figure it all out.
Even if a technician can’t figure it out altogether the most obvious course of action is to back up everything, format the hard disk and re-install the operating system to the way it was and then re-apply the applications that you had in the first place.
Most of the time this type of maintenance will do the trick in preventing any future occurrences of physical memory dumps.
As usual you can help yourself immensely about computer virus issues by keeping up on regular maintenance runs through your antivirus software program. Making sure that you are up to date with virus definitions, along with timely scans that are both quick and comprehensive will help you keep your PC functioning a long time without problems that face a lot of other people.
