Just Exactly How Does A Computer Virus Infect Computers?

It’s almost a cliche that computers and viruses go together.  But do you really know how a computer virus works inside a computer?  Let’s get back to basics and identify the key elements of what a computer virus consists of?A computer virus is really computer code where the intention is to exploit security holes within your pc.  The virus or program looks for open ports or addressable sections within computers to allow the program to capture sensitive information.

This sensitive information can be in the form of passwords to the sites that you visit, to capturing key logging strokes whenever you are at your computer.  Whatever you type the program will capture in a file.

Later on this file can be used to peruse by the infiltrator and eventually figure out what sites you visit along with the password.  That’s one of the reasons that you should change passwords frequently just for that one reason alone.

If you’re computer ever starts acting strange then suspect virus.  In fact if your computer starts executing programs or your mouse suddenly has a mind of its own then you can bet your bottom dollar that an open port has been identified and control is now at a remote site.

Before security was tightened up in windows support personnel used to be able to work with clients by remotely accessing their computers.  This is good and bad depending on intentions.  Sure the support personnel were for your support but if the ports were kept open then hackers would also be able to access your computer.

If proper precautions were not taken then that is one of the reasons how your personal PC could be exploited.

You need to be aware of this to protect your information that you have on your computer.
