How Many Different Forms Of Clickjacking Are There?
The hidden security exposure of click-jacking poses a real threat to people unaware of the consequences of click-jacking. Knowing that click-jacking is the hijacking of a particular website with an invisible dialog panel that redirects your information to another site should cause alarms to go off in your head.
Click-jacking in its truest form allows an attacker to take control of your clicks and use them against you. The use of a web cam and microphone can also be weapons used against you in the unauthorized capture of information on your own home PC.
Click-jacking encompasses several different security exploits but it’s all called the same. These click-jacking security exposures have multiple variants that are used noting that some use cross domain services and some do not. But the bottom line is click-jacking is called the same whatever the case may be.
Using the analog of controlling weeds within a garden is to fence it in so that it can’t grow outside of it.
One of the first defenses that you can do to control click-jacking is to disable flash in whatever browser that you are using. Some browsers are more intuitive than others to find out how to do this. The no-script add-on for FireFox is probably the best method to implement until a security fix patch is created and implemented across the FireFox browser platform.
Click-jacking is a real security threat to everyone involved but in essence it does not affect the computers performance but compromises our data. We as PC users have to rely on the ability of our Internet providers and browser support engineers to come up with a security fix that will circumvent present and future attacks by these people who write this malicious code intended to wreak havoc upon our Internet lives.
Because this click-jacking affects a lot of browsers including Apple Safari, google, Microsoft Internet explorer, Mozilla FireFox and opera the need for a security fix is imminent.
