Do You Have The Latest Computer Virus On Your System?
Do you know if you have contracted a virus on your system? A lot of people don’t know and most don’t care. What I mean by don’t care is that these type people probably already have an antivirus software installed on their system. But the first step is taken in protecting yourself by having it installed but the second step is to insure that you have the latest updates. Unless you have the latest antivirus updates on your computer and run regular scans you might as well not have any type of antivirus software at all.
Sure you are protected against the existing older models of viruses that have been identified in the past but the newer ones needs to be stopped as well. Unless you download the patches on a regular basis you just might contract the latest computer virus on your system and now your data, your time and effort you spent on your PC is compromised.
At least weekly you should download antivirus patches and also run a full system scan on your system to identify and delete any potential viruses that you may have on your system.
Be wary of emails from anyone. Sure we get a lot of them these days and a lot of them are useless. Do not open emails from people or organizations you do not know. Let me repeat that so that it sinks in, do not open emails from strangers.
Some antivirus programs can be configured to check emails as they come in before you even get to read the subject title. The money spent on these antivirus programs are well worth it. How much is your data worth? That will benchmark the worth of the cost of the antivirus program.
Downloading files from the Internet is another big gaping hole in Internet security. Especially freeware or shareware. There’s been so much exploitation in this arena that it behooves you to check and double check the credibility of the software that you’re downloading.
Backup your files on a regular basis as well. Because viruses are created and identified on a daily basis, if you do end up with a virus on your computer you may be able to save your data by restoring to a previous checkpoint. Maybe if you did back it up.
Look around for an antivirus program that suits your needs and you shouldn’t have to worry about any type of virus issues.
