What Does A Virus Look Like?

So how do you actually define or see a virus on a computer?  Well a virus on a computer can take on many forms.  The most obvious is your computer acting in ways that you’ve never seen before.  I will note some of the characteristics that viruses have impacted computers later in this post.  This does not withstand the fact that viruses come out all the time with newer versions and newer techniques in how to disrupt our lives on our PC.So if you’re looking for a virus on your computer and by the way you hope you never see any of these occurrences that I’m about to share with you here is one that identifies a virus.  If the icons on your desktop are not there and you didn’t clear them out then that is an indication of a virus.

If your computer boots up unexpectedly then start the mind churning that you may have contracted a virus.  If when you start up your internet browser that it’s different looking or different altogether then consider yourself infected.

If you’ve purchased proprietary software and they don’t seem to work anymore then consider yourself attacked.

First thing you should do is get out of every application that you can think of on your computer.  Download the latest patches of your antivirus software.  Run a comprehensive scan on your computer.

What?  You don’t have antivirus software?  Okay you have a last ditch chance to redeem yourself.  Most computers have internal backup restore points.  Try restoring your computer to a time when you didn’t experience strange happenings on your computer.

This has saved me numerous times.  Restoring your environment may lose any programs you may have downloaded but hopefully will restore your system without any viruses.

Hopefully you can get out of this predicament unscathed otherwise you’ll have to take it to a computer specialist to clear out your computer of those viruses.

Learn from these experiences and protect yourself.
